About Letterkeep
Letterkeep is a small, independent shop based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. We started it with one simple idea: a real pearl necklace shouldn't cost hundreds of dollars or only come out on special occasions.
What we sell
One thing, done properly: strands of freshwater cultured pearls in white, pink and lavender, in three sizes. They are real pearls grown in freshwater mussels, not glass or plastic. Because they're grown, every strand is a little different, and we'd rather tell you that up front than pretend each one is identical.
Where they come from
Our pearls come from Zhuji, China, one of the world's main centres for freshwater cultured pearls. Each order ships to you directly from our supplier there, with free tracking to the United States and Canada. That's how we keep the price low. It also means delivery takes a little longer than a big-box store: orders ship within 1–5 business days and usually arrive 8–15 business days after that.
Honest details
- Freshwater cultured pearls are often bleached or color-enhanced; please assume ours may be.
- The clasp is silver-tone with rhinestone accents, not sterling silver.
- Some photos on our site are styled renderings; the supplier photos show the actual pearls.
Our promise
If you don't love it, return it unworn within 30 days of delivery. If it arrives damaged or isn't what you ordered, send us a photo within 7 days and we'll replace or refund it.
