Care
Put your necklace on last and take it off first: perfume, hairspray and lotion dull the surface of cultured pearls over time. Wipe with a soft, dry cloth after wearing and store flat, away from harder jewelry that can scratch it. Keep it out of water.

Are these real pearls?
Yes. They are freshwater cultured pearls, grown in freshwater mussels, not glass or plastic. "Cultured" means a pearl farmer started the pearl; the mussel grows it. They may be bleached or color-enhanced, as most freshwater cultured pearls are.
Which size should I choose?
7–8 mm is delicate and suits everyday wear or a first strand. 8–9 mm is the classic middle size. 9–10 mm is fuller and more noticeable, made for dressing up. The size guide photo shows all three next to a US dime.
How long is the necklace?
45 cm (about 17.7 in). On most people it sits at the collarbone.
Is the clasp sterling silver?
No. It is a silver-tone clasp with rhinestone accents.

Every pearl on your strand was grown, not made in a factory. It takes years of patience on the water before a single necklace is ready to wear.

Grown in a mussel
Our pearls come from freshwater farms around Zhuji in eastern China. A small piece of tissue placed inside each mussel is slowly coated in nacre, the same lustrous material that forms a natural pearl.

Graded and sorted
After a few years on the water the pearls are harvested, then graded by size, shape and color.

Matched into a strand
Pearls of a similar size and tone are strung together and finished with a clasp. Small differences in shape and tone are normal. They are the mark of a real pearl.

Are they real pearls?
Yes. They are freshwater cultured pearls, grown inside freshwater mussels with human help, which is how almost every pearl strand sold today is produced. They are not glass, shell or plastic imitations.
